As of Nov. 10th, new S.F. recruit
I didnt really know where to put this, but November 10th I swore into the United States Army as a Special Forces recruit. I leave for basic training in fort benning December 27th and then go to fort bragg for my airborne training and from there i will find out where im going for my special "Q" training. ill check in whenever possible but thats going to be very doubtful. i just wanted to let the whole drag community know i appreciate all the conversations ive had, and all the assholes ive met. Because of you all, basic will be that much easier.
Dam homie, you shouldve went 11b and then hit ranger school. i wouldnt sign up for SF straight into the military. What if you dont make the training and trust me, the training is hard as hell physically and mentally. I took the SF APFT and passed that shit hella easy but i couldnt afford to be gone like they are. I would end up divorced..lol. But good luck. You get some Highspeed training though.
Not sure if the army is the same as the navy, but you are not special forces til you first, complete bootcamp, the complete your schooling, Think it is called m.o.s. in the army, the complete all your s.f. training. So I dont think you signed up as special forces. You probably got a S.F. qualifies MOS, and have orders to take the physical and go to training after getting through everything else. Good luck though man.

Yep, youre not SF till you finish, and like only 40% or even less pass SF, But wish you best of luck. I dont really like the army much, but i do respect lots of the Army Grunts and SF. good luck!
not to be a dick but i hope you know some shit about the army, and not just the army but hardcore infantry shit, im a pilot but i know some of my buddies who went SF and from what ive heard the land nav is the hardest part by far. Imagine 20-30 points in a 10m space.
But like one guy said Ranger school is something you should of considered b.c like he stated you fail out of SF your basically going to go anywhere the Army needs you and my guess is 88M have fun driving trucks.
On the other hand if you would of just chosen Ranger school your still a soldier even though not everyone @ Ranger school is infantry but most are. When i went i was the only Army guy not an 11b we also had 2 marines and 1 guy from Germany.
Regardless good luck

all i gotta say is when your done, be careful. there are no respawn points in RL like there is in FPS, so if you die you don't come back.
BOOM HEADSHOT!
Hi my name is Doug........FUCK!

haha thats why i said im a special forces recruit. it says on my contract 18xray. and i tried to go into RIP but they had no opening apparently so sf is the next best thing if not better only more docile.but it shouldnt be too hard to transfer from sf to ranger school.im doin all the exercises now so i can get 100% in the pt test
Things you need to be able to do...
1. Ruckmarch, we have some guys in our unit get ready for SF school they ruckin 20 miles a week and increase it by 5 miles everyweek until they can do 30miles with 50 pound ruck.
2. Operate on little sleep and little food.
Little sleep means less than 4 hours non continuous and little chow means maybe one mre every 24 hours while doing missions.
3. Be strong mentally and physically.
Cause in SF school your buddies rate you and no one wants a weak wimp or someone that always crying and complaining in their squad.
4. Land navigation
you need to hook up with other military mainly army people that know how to land nav. Using a compass, protractor, and a military map 1/50000 scale. Im a expert at land nav.
the rewards of being SF.
1. You get promoted fast as fuck. ive ssg and sfc and i swear they cant be older than 31 or 32 years old.
2. the latest re-enlistment bonus for SF warrant officer was 150K.
3. You get your hands on all the new shit, from weapons, gear, clothing all the highspeed shit like 1-2 years before the infantry and like 3 years before the rest of the army
4. You dont have to wear that stupid black beret, you get to wear the TAN one.
5. You get Highspeed training. That fun training that all the other units want to do but you guys get to do all the fun shit.
downsides
1. You will be put into action. SF are usually the first to go anywhere and its so secrective that sometimes they cant tell their spouses until they are already getting ready to leave..lol
Thats about it on the downside..lol.
any questions let me know. im going to SF brief next week. We have SF up here at FT lewis and Rangers up here too.
