haha, j/k. What do you mean by clean record? You dont have a SINGLE ticket for ANYTHING? I ask b/c I know some people will say they have a clean record when they really have a speeding ticket and a bs parking ticket.
However, if you truely do not have a single ticket, you might be "ok."
It would probably be wise to get a lawyer to represent you.
Either way, if you decide to represent yourself or get a lawyer, go to DMV and get a copy of your driving record. Go to court dressed appropriately and talk calmly with respect.
Va Beach Judges are pretty strict, but your chance of getting it dropped to a lower degree offense are pretty high, granted you have a clean record.

 

Get a lawyer. Always get a lawyer. Probably won't get you out of it, but you have a better chance of getting it reduced. Any time you just decide to "take it like a man," you're going to pay for it for the next 5 years with your insurance.

Otherwise.... you can be one of those people who refuses to pay a few hundred bucks for an attorney because you think it would just be cheaper to pay the ticket.

 

Fuck a lawyer. Just go in, confess, and take the punishment.

 

+1 it helps to just say you were wrong and stupid and you throw yourself on teh mercy on teh court.

Act like a hard ass and you will end up with a soft one.

How clean is 'clean driving record'? Can guarentee a Judge won't think of prior ticket's as clean.
