The problem isn't new, there have been countless thefts, robberies, and assaults in that mall. I haven't been inside springfield mall in a long time, but I think they need to have officers in uniform standing around during night hours, if they don't already. The mall security guards can't do anything to control that sort of stuff, and for the most part from what I remember are a joke.

 

my uncle works for a company that just bought springfield mall and apparently theyre gonna tear it down except for macys, taget, and jc penny. theyre gonna try to make it like tysons corner to help the area grow
