car started but.....
well we got the car started tonight. but piston 2 and 4 arent firing. would this be a problem with the ignition? any help would be nice guys. thanks

89 civic dx with a d16z6. i have brand new NGK plugs and wires...i dont see where the problem would be there. unless its the dizzy. but i think im goin to take apart the block and see whats goin on

This might be a dumb question but did you wire up the other two injectors that that motor comes with that the dx didnt? If not then that would be your probelm. Or did you not switch out ecus? If not then that also mught be it.

heres an old trick from a 80 year old volkswagen dude i know.
take your timing light. hook it up just like you normally would but put the trigger on the number 2, then the 4. start er up. is the light flashing?
if yes-check fuel related (see kyler oses reply) or bad spark gap (not common, but do a compression test now too-low compression = no boom)
if no-spark problem. check everything. clean everything.(cap and rotor too) check all wires.
also check your valvelash. an improper valvelash can cause a cylinder not to fire.
good luck

yes injectors are wired up and ecus have been switched...thanks for that advice ill be sure to try that tomorrow. thanks a lot guys. if you got any more ideas let me know

ARE YOU sure that the car has been wired from DPFI to MPFI..?
b/c when i was fucking with it at majors house, marks was going to wire it up but we/he never did...i was fucking with the front suspension and mark was fucking with the cleaning of the wires...gettgin ready to do the mpfi conversion...
unless you converted it...then its not converted...
thats your problem

i just got it converted like 4 days ago. everything has been switched. injectors,dizzy,O2 sensor. all that....i dunno ima dick with a lil more today...i just got tired last night messin with it...
