Angry What's the deal with Fairfax Corner's Cinema De Lux?

Everyone that knows about this place knows it's THE best place to see a movie. Stadium seats, a piano that plays itself, upscale eveything. However, I've noticed that every time a big movie is released, they NEVER have it on time. They still don't have King Kong and it just doesn't make sense. How can a theater this awesome not get this shit on time?! My friends and I have decided they do it on purpose, knowing that plenty of people won't go to a shitty theater like Merrifield to see it and like making us wait.

studios grant rights to certain chains for first release. it depends on who wins the debut bid. Regal Entertainment group (the company that owns Regal, United Artist, and Edwards) has a lot of pull.

Cinema De Lux is overpriced in my opinion. You can goto AMC in Tysons or any other new movie theatre and get what you get at Cinema De Lux without getting ripped off. Do yourself a favor and check out the AMC in Tysons.

Also, AMC offers STUDENT DISCOUNTS. At least the brand new one in Columbia Mall does. $7.00 to get in to see a movie.

Went there tonight for the first time and it was great. Probably even better than Cinema De Lux!

I believe the ticket price tonight was the same as De Lux's last time I was there, without Director Seating of course (which is indeed a rip off). Didn't look at the snack prices though, but at theaters they're overpriced anyways.

De Lux doesn't offer student discounts, whereas AMC does at the ones I goto. Thus, De Lux is a major ripoff to me.

the cinema de lux and the fairfax town center seem to each play different movies, maybe they are owned by the same people and thats why de lux never gets movies on time but ffx tc does
