Whats wrong with my bike? HELLLLLLLPPP!
I purchased a 1991 cbr 600 f2 about a month ago, it has run perfect, starts up right away and idles smoothly. Today i went to start it, it fired up like usual, but when i got about 50 yards away from my house the RPMs dropped, and the the bike cut off, now it won't start. It will crank and crank and occasionally sputter, but will not start. I am hoping that someone might have some suggestions as to what might be wrong. Maybe the ignition coils? Any help and suggestions are appreciated, Thanks.

LOL. Most likely that or some other fuel related issue. Its usually the simplest thing. Coils/electronics would be really far down my list of stuff that I would be checking
I had a 1995 honda F3 and I had that problem, it was because I hadn't turned the fuel on, it happened a second time, this time I had the fuel on but it ran out and I had to turn it to reserve. Happened a third time, this time I had the fuel on and it wasn't out of gas, I didn't know anything about bikes so going on a friend's recommendation changed the spark plugs and it started up first try.
Yeah the fuel petcock is on, and it has plenty of gas, thanks for the help and suggestions, i might try changing the spark plugs, the bike is 14 years old and i just found out they haven't been changed once.

we charge an hour per carb at work, $60 an hour, so $240 for a carb cleaning/tuning on a 4 cylinder... i know there are dealers that charge more and less so i'd say if you take it to a dealer expect to pay 180-300 or so... just make sure they really clean them, alot of people consider spraying carb cleaner down the throat of a carb a cleaning, they need to be completely disassembled, soaked in a parts bath, have compressed air blown through all the channels and maybe run some metal wire through the jets if need be, and put back and set correctly
