NASA Time Trial @ VIR 2/18/06
im driving in Heat 6. wish me luck
Details:
This is one day time trial (a slightly higher speed autocross) on a
permanent road course with elevation changes and camber changes.
The course will be slowed-down with cones to ensure safety,
and cars will only go on track one-at-a-time against the clock.
A manned tow truck and staffed rescue squad will be on site.
The day will be split into six 1-hour heats (see schedule below)
for approximately 15 cars each, offering 6-8 timed runs each.
Drivers can sign up for "double fun runs" and participate in a
later heat also, meaning as many as 12-16 runs are available.
Particpants must be 16+ years of age with a valid license.
Those under 18 must provide a signed copy of the parental
consent form AND have a legal guardian present at all times.
No prior autocross or road course driving experience is required.
There will be a special classroom meeting for all novices.
This event is open to any street or racing vehicle that can pass Pre-Tech
and also pass trackside Tech (re-checking that list on event morning.)
4-point roll bars (or better) are required in all convertibles.
Open-top cars with factory rollover hoops (Boxster, etc) *may* be
allowed on a case-by-case basis; please contact Jon Felton for details.
This event will be held RAIN OR SHINE or COLD.
We will only cancel or postpone if VIR tells us
it's unsafe due to heavy storms or frozen weather.
Helmets are required and should be rated M95 or newer/better.
A limited number of loaner helmets will be available but please
do not assume that we will have enough helmets for everyone.
Drivers are required to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes,
and long sleeves while on-track. Avoid synthetic materials.
