its dyed and if im not mistaken you can buy the staining stuff yourself.

 

GO to a paint supply shop, get some SEM brand vinyl dye and the right type of prep for the material you're doing. It's easy to use, it's special paint for overcoating vinyl and plastics without changing the texture. It keeps the same semigloss appearance, etc. It's the same stuff the shops use..
