Default Newport News City center/ Oyster Point

Anyone live out near here or near those Apartments back towards the RBC Centura Bldgs? Anything worth mentioning about the area would be appreciated.

Any automotive custom shops or bike shops near by?
Best sports bar or bar in the area?

There is a Sports Bar tucked back where the old Put-Put Gold used to be. It's a nice little Irish-Family run place. In Denbigh, there is a great Pool Hall name Oblisk(sp) Billiard Club. Food there is great. Go there and get Chili Cheese Fries, they are the best ones outside of the ones I have had in South Carolina.

The Obelisk is the nicest pool hall I've been in since I've been in Newport News.
We've always been able to get a table upon enterting, its a very clean pool hall.
The only downside, if you consider it to be that, is you must wear a collared shirt.

I have to agree with mumbles, the obelisk is a very nice place. I shoot pool there every now and then with some friends. And if you are talking about clubs We have mittys (sp) in the omni complex, but I havent been there since high school lol.

i've been there a few times but it can be expensive.

i usually just go to Pockets down on jefferson..yes it's dark, yes it's smokey, yes the tables have a little bit of wear on them but it's alot more "relaxed" environment.

If you want a relaxed type atmosphere 2nd street has a little bar area and it's 1.50 beers every day 11am 'til 9pm... Not that many people go anymore 'cause it's non-smoking but all you have to do is walk outside and light one up, they got tables out there too...
