Want to hook up a stock srt-4 with subs and amp.. dont want to replace the deck either,
2 12" 1200watt sony xploid
1 1200watt amp
remote power supply (not sure what it is bu it was use to be on my 8ohm jetta)

There is a converter you can buy from Best Buy that will turn normal speaker wires into audio cable jacks (RCAs) you can tap into the wires up front or in the back near the rear speakers. That will give you a low input to your subs and you ll be good. If you tap into the rear speaker wires it will also be controlled with your fade button, but so will your rear speakers.

As for the remote power supply not sure what you mean

i think the sony amp comes with a high (speaker connect) and low level (rca)input. and comes with a level senseing turn on .but if you need a power source find a fuse in the fuse box that gets power when the aux key or turn on key. one thing you did'nt mention was a amp for the highs. 2 12's and 1200 watts it's going to be nothing but bass.

It doesnt have to be nothing but bass... just adjust the level of the amp and have your stock speakers have higher mid and treble. You can balance it out without having to spend more money.

As for where to hook up the power.. Dont go ghetto do it right. Power goes straigh to the battery find a hole in the firewall and run it through. Ground you need to make sure goes to bare metal and have it as short as possible.
About 4 inches is good.
