very similar, it's supposed to full courses. I'm guessing it's supposed to be like the time trials in the option videos "Time attack". Not obsolutely positive though. I personally don't see the difference between this and scca solo.
Time Attack has been around forever, except it's been called time trials.
NASA has done these in the mid-atlantic since 1998. There's one next Saturday at VIR, in fact.
NASA will hold full open passing TT's during track events at least 4-5 times this season... groups of cars running for time with transponders and open passing... first one is April 1-2 on Summit Point Raceway's Shenandoah Circuit, but they're not for beginners.
NASA's also got a hillclimb (like a Time Attack, but up a mountain road) at Snowshoe in WV in July.
Time Attack is a nice new name for an old thing, I guess. Whatever works, the more the merrier, this kind of event is quite fun

So you're talking about Redline events, based on that link you sent above?
From their site it looks like they're letting beginners and intermediates on track without instructors?
I can give you about 50 great reasons why that's a horrible idea...

no they are letting beginners run on the open track / test day portions of the event and if you dont do anything stupid then you can run in the actual time attack event. Sorry for not putting a complete link on the other site.... oversight..#1 for the day. If you need more info let me know.
