I got pulled this morning on my way to work....no ticket, but a stern lecture from the cop about my tint and how he couldnt see me or my plate (have tint cover)

Im out of state registration, but here because of the Navy....can anyone clarify how this works? Im I think 15-20%

He was all about giving me a warning after checking my registration and license.....

BTW I searched and didnt come up with anything....
and second BTW, IM NOT TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO ARGUE OUT OF IT, if I get a ticket so be it.......

How what works? Are you asking if you can get a ticket for tint even though your car isn't registered here? If thats it, then the answer is yes..

Can the local/state police ticket me for having the car road legal in Michigan, but be down here in VA?

They can ticket you for anything that's illegal in Virginia.

 

The way i was told by an officer of the law was this......."Once you cross over that state-line, you must obey every traffic law that exist in that state. Everything from your exhaust to your window tint"

I used to live in Charlotte, it's right on the nc/sc state line. Driving down the interstate you see people pulling over on there motorcycles to put there helmets on 'cause in sc you don't have to wear one but in nc you do... Same type of situation but not so easy to just rip the tint off at the border...

 

I think he didnt have anything else to do......plus I was putting on my seatbelt as I pulled up to the stopsign where he saw me.....I dunno though, Ill just play my chances and keep it the way it is.....eff-it....

well seeing as how im from missouri i can go as dark as i want in the back windows and 35% up front i havent had a problem with it. that cop was just being a dick and had nothing better to do. VA cops FTL!!

 

they can give you warnings and even tickets , but they are hoping that you just pay if you went to court and showed the judge your registration it would be thrown out of court..

the whole helmet /motorcycle thing is a moving violation .. tint isnt. totally different.. virginia can pull its common wealth shit on you all day . but as long as its registered in another state they should never even fuck with you ...

on a side note i just got my 5th window tint ticket on friday. $90.00 X 5 .. shit sucks ..
