Default copper head gaskets

Hey guys, a buddy of mine was telling me about copper head gaskets, and how they lower your compression ratio. Does it have to do with the fact that it's copper, or that it's thinner, and stronger or what? Just curious, havn't heard too much about it.

a copper headgasket is stronger than a normal one, and yes if its thinner it will raise your compression.

and if you want to raise compression a bit more separate the head gaskets since they are layered... lol..
