If you lock them, why don't you move it to the black hole? I know this sin't always the case, but if you are going to lock some, why not move it at the same time? I mean, the lock and the move option are in the same place. Move just requires about 2-3 more clicks. If you are going to leave it, why not leave it open?

Well, sunshine, when I lock a thread, I want the person(s) who fucked up to know what they did wrong. So I'll give them a link and a statement, leave it there for a hot minute, and then move it to the Blackhole. This makes it so we don't get a bunch of 'Why was my thread deleted' threads.

Make sense?

So you leave it there for a few minutes hoping that the person sees it?

Or do you actually send them a PM?

I leave it there so everyone can see it.

For example, the threads today where everyone is asking where the Kill Stories forum went. If they would read that, they'd know.

The forum is like a river. You need to do what you can to keep it flowing and not have as many rocks in the way.

So the person that created it still may not see it. Sweet, you guys would think with 10 moderators you would start sending messages, because if the creator doesn't see it, you end up with 2 rocks.

And that's the point of 10 moderators. The threads are handled with a swiftness, so the creater is still on-line and can see what happened.

I, personally, like to see what the moderation is doing. I never liked being in the dark wondering wtf just happened and why.

30 minutes really isn't swift.

Anyways, that isn't my point in the last post, my point was you guys should really handle things better. Send a PM.

And my point is that it's your opinion and it's noted.

I'm a moderator on a couple other forums, and when I lock threads, I always leave them there as well. I guess I kind of hope people see a locked thread, click on it, and then learn from the example of others what kind of things won't be tolerated...
