just started going back and need to catch up on my math....anyone do you know if you "have" to take a catch up course, i know the placement test says you do, but can you just enroll in the class you want and be done with it ???

it wants me to take mth 04 which is algebra 2 and and i dont' think i need to and would rather just enroll in college algebra

 

yea u actually have to take a "catch up" course and gotta pass those so u can move onto college algebra. its like that for all math and english courses at TCC

 

see if they have a CLEP program at TCC(they should). You basically study a course on your own time, and when your ready you take a cumulative test...if you pass it, you get the credit for the course. Since you sound pretty comfrotable w/ your math passing the test shouldn't be a problem.

 

I have to take math 04 too.

Infact, i have already failed it 2 times. Mainly because it was an 8 AM class, and the other bit being I am retarded.

 

I jumped straight into Business Calculus/Analytical Calculus...it all depends on test scoring from the past. I didn't take any enrollment tests or anything...but based on SAT's and high school courses you can be enrolled in much higher classes...based on intelligence .

 

I just got finished taking algebra 2 at TNCC. Its a developmental class and I ended up with a 74. You have to have a 75 in order to pass. Im pretty pissed off. If you dont remember any of the algebra, I would recomend you take what they are telling you to take.

 

ya i passed it once with a b.....but for a "developmental" course you have to get a 90 or better......

i suck at math and a b was great !!!!
