Default piston ?

if i put type R pistons in my jdm b16 a2 with my stock rods would i increase hp? ifyou do know can you tell me by thousanths if possible. dont want to waste my money. thanks

if there higher compression then yes(im not sure jdm comp vs usdm comp), youll gain hp, depending on other things done to the motor will be the result in how many extra, your not gonna gain like 50 hp or nothing, but im sure you will gain something, whether you can really tell the difference is the other question, just put a 50 shot on it and call it a day..........ahaha.....

if my motor is bone stock is it gonna be a waste?

if youre gonna break your bone-stock motor down to the block, install type R pistons then re-assemble it and put it back in your car, that is a complete waste of time and money.

agreed..........alot of other stuff has to be done, hone the block, new head gasket, intake manifold gasket, oil pan gasket, depending on mileage and condition new rod and crank bearings, paying someone to press out your wrist pins and install new pistons onto rods, pistons rings, dont do it...........

At least do some other stuff while you're at it, like a port and polish, valve job, etc., while the whole thing is torn down.. Wait for a good excuse before you disassemble that much stuff, agreed..
