Hey yall, so here’s how the story starts. I was wanting some body work done to my 95 del sol so I thought I would find a place near my house to do it. So I went to Auto works its only like 2 mins done the road from me. I ride up there and the manager comes and helps me. I told him that there was some damage on the passenger side where it looked like the pervious owner had fixed it with bondo and was cracking, I also wanted my antenna shaved as well as the spoiler and rear bumper fixed where some one had backed into it and put some scuffs in it. So he calls his two body guys and they say we could do all this for 4 hours and 75 dollars an hour. Then I asked how much to sand the whole car and paint the car flat black and he says like 80 to 100 dollars. So my total was like 450 for everything. I thought dang that’s a great price and these people are professionals so I told him go ahead and do it. A few minutes later I asked if he could get his hand on a 97 del sol front bumper he said sure no problem and calls me to say I found one for 295 I said go ahead and pick it up.
The next day I went to pay 400 for a down payment, I gave the payment to the manager and asked when could I pickup my car he says we will have it ready Friday (I dropped the car off on Thursday the week before). I call two days later and ask for some prices for a CF hood I had been wanting it was a different guy who picked up and I asked for the manager he says he’s no longer with us. I started to freak out so I ride down there and one of the body guys tell me he took my $400 to Mexico or something like that. I ask so the price is going to stay the same right, the body guy says well we can’t get that bumper so we sent a guy to Richmond to look at one. He says the price might go up a little, so then he says well we can order a new one for a little more like $100 I said sure (a new 97 front bumper from Honda is 450 to 500).
Its Friday and I call up to see if my cars ready the guy who answers says your bumper is lost we found it and will be on our door step at 9 a.m. Monday morning. I stressed to them that they have had my car for a week an a half and I work in Newport News (45min drive). I tell them that im going out of town to NC on Tuesday and I need my car by Monday he says it will be ready no later than 6 p.m.
It’s Monday now I call up there to see if my car is ready. The guy says yeah its ready it looks good and ready for you to pick it up. I get there and start looking over my car like anyone else would. They did not sand the car, It did not have a 97 front bumper and the car looked like it was spray painted and you could see red through the dog poop primer job they did. So I walk inside and ask for my keys he tells me I owe them another 808 dollars I was pissed I said 808 for a front bumper a your kidding me. I don’t know if yall have ever heard of a thing like this but I was pissed. I asked for a receipt he shows me where it says I paid 400 cash and shows where it says 750.00 for everything. On the receipt it says 750 for antenna and holes filled in, bumper and primed and body work done. I told the guy if I was going to pay 1200 dollars why didn’t I get you to paint it. He say you have to talk to my boss I said get him on the phone now. The guy start freaking out probably because I was so pissed he say I don’t have the owners number (If you work some where wouldn’t you have the owners phone number or wouldn’t it be put somewhere were you could find it I case of an emergency like if the shop burnt down). He then tell me I can get my car but I have to sign a the receipt I signed it and wrote under the assumption of 750. Hes like you cant do that and scratches it out he says you will have to talk to the owner tomorrow. I tried calling up there no one has picked up and no one has called me. So now I have a half ass primer job and body work with no 97 front bumper.

So I am thinking of sewing for all the trips to work and back plus the 400 and more to get the car fixed. What do you guys think I should do?

Do not go to Auto Works for nothing not even to get you fluids topped off cause they will screw you

Just kidding. Sounds shitty. I have heard nothing but bad things from this shop.

you shoulda got your car outta there when you had the chance from the first sign of failure. ya live and learn.

 

Its right off of military in Greenbrier. I did but they said they couldnt refund my money and could give store credit. I dont wont store credit. So i got fucked either way.

shitty....but i love to hear story's of shitball shops and see shitball work cause it just helps me out, although i feel bad for ya cause you got screwed.

i worked for him for like twwo weeks and i saw all things he did to cust. and how he would start fights all the time and cust. would come in there with guns and he had one too
that shit scared me shitless so i walked out on him and he told me he would kill me and my family if i didnt come back to work for him...
