Anyone else going? I've gone every year since it started coming here, I'm not an oval track fan at all but my dad always ends up getting free tickets and its something close to home and good to do with him.

 

i got free tix but wont be using them this weekend. it sucks that you cant give them to someone else. I went last year and it was a blast

is it a company give away or something that you have to show id for that keeps you from giving them away? that does suck

 

I had about 12 tickets, I love indy oval races but its just more practical to watch them on tv.. all 12 are being sold =p

 

I went 2 years ago, I was bored outa my mind. First 5 minutes are fun then its boring. And god its trailor trash city out there

 

yea, free giveaway through Marlboro. you gotta call in for the tickets first to confirm you are who's printed on the vouchers and that you are 21yo. then you get to the track and you can get free pit passes. I saw danica patrick last year this way.

 

oh yea watching any racing on tv is the way to go, but this its not much different because you can see the whole track from your seat, road racing you can usually only see one to maybe 2 or 3 turns and so its like noise/action for 5 seconds, then silence for 2 minutes, except this year at the VIR superbike races they brought in jumbotron screens so you could see what was going on which was awesome

it is fairly trashy, and if i wasn't on a bike i probably wouldn't go simply because getting out is a nightmare, i always ride my bike and get out just as fast as if the place was dead empty, my dad usually shows up at home 2 hours later pissed off

Im still trying to decide if I will come with the gf. Thing is someone is giving me these tickets that they won through there job (Suntrust) and what it sounds like you are saying is that I might not be able to use the tickets that were "issued" through a company? And also Im coming all the way from the 757 so Im not trying to drive 2 hours to get turned right back around. Also you mentioned that you have to be 21?
