How could there be anything bad about a retrofit. As long as you evacuate your system of all the R12 and its oil, and put in a new reciever drier then nothing could be bad about it
Honestly nick. I'd go with the Retrofit. Although I hate saying this but carmasters on newtown road in va beach can do retrofitting for a good price with warrantied Car Quest parts.
Put R-22 in that bitch. Then you can hang meat from your rearview mirror
R-22 would not work for your car. It will run too hot on the discharge side of the compressor. Like other said.......do a retro job and you'll be set. Make sure to change out the oil in the compressor, change the o-rings out, and leak test your system.

I know. I just didnt want to repeat what the others already told him
But you gotta admit, it would be nice and nipply in there.
'Beach radiator' did mine with r12. only like $10 more per pound than R134. Its not really that much more and R12 works better in an r12 system than a retrofit.. There's also a product called Freeze 12 that works very good too is what I hear.. You can buy it online/
