Default Submission Fighters and Fans, Tourney on the 12th

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Frank LaVoie. Among other endeavors, I am the head Varsity wrestling coach at Green Run High School and a former professional MMA fighter. In association with the ISWA, we'll be hosting a tournament at Green Run High School on August 12. There is a small entry fee and fighters must register for membership with the ISWA (International Submission Wrestling Association).

If you visit www.iswa.us you'll find out about their rules system and other important information. Feel free to pm me or email me at flavoie@cox.net if you have any questions.

Fans, the entry fee will be five dollars and we will be selling concessions. Proceeds from concession, fan entrance fees, and partial fighters' fees will go to the Green Run Wrestling team. I'm trying to send my boys to camp next summer, so all your help will be greatly appreciated.

Many of you that know about my fighting career, sorry, but I'm not competing this time. If you would like a demonstation ass whoppin, just let me know; I'm sure we can arrange it! However, I do have a team of fighters that I have specifically trained for this tournament that will be competing in various age groups and weight classes. Look for the Team LaVoie shirts and cheer as loud as you can for my boys!

If you email me a request, I will send you a copy of the tournament flier.

PM me or email me with any concerns whatsoever.

Thanks for the support!

So its an open invite? Let me know when you have a open invite wrestling tournament ... I havnt wreslted since high school, but wrestled under Coach Stokes for a few years, and went to summer camps with the Currituck boys. Also went to a few of Coach Flynns (Granby ... now Maury I believe)camps with his sons.

Again this has been many years since ive seen the mat, and im definatly out of shape ... but will more than likely come check this out. Sounds very cool.

Oops...sorry about the link guys...wasn't paying attention and was typing too fast!

There is no striking in this tournament. It is modified wrestling rules with submissions. Fighters may compete barefoot or in wrestling shoes. Athletic shorts and some type of type fitting shirt (ie. spandex/lycra/underarmor material) required. No head pieces.

The tournament is open invite. You do not have to represent an organization or a team. Online registration will be available soon. Ill post up asap.

ISWA membership is $35.00. But this is good for one year and will cover you for all future tournaments. We will be hosting many.

Entry fee is $30.00 or 25 if you register before August 10.

Weigh-ins and Registration 8-10 with fighting beginning at 10:30.

Weight Classes and Age Divisions should be listed on the site.

Yeah, I'm out here! Not much in the way of high level MMA here. I always lived here but did a good portion of my sanctioned fights in FL, GA, and NY.
