i jsut have an aropseed bomb-series muffler, and it jsut seems to me, that it feels like the car is getting more torque when i have the silencer in, i haven't been able to like run it with it in, and then out to see if their is a speed diference. but i think it just might feel that way because the engine is stressin more. if anyone knows why it might have more power, even though its against the physics of it. jsut tell me why... or am i jsut feeling it stress more???

more back pressure = more low end torque, less top end punch

the back pressure kills your high end horsepower....

 

exactly, anything that chokes exhaust flow will kill top end... Aren't you glad you got an exhaust so you could put on a silencer and not really gain top end power?

 

 

i put in the silencer, so that when i am just driving around, the cops don't turn heads as much. can't hear me comin, pretty much. thanks for the info though guys

 

i have a tenzo cat-back, no silencer, never had a problem with cops

 

shit im running no cat on 2.25" piping w/ a DTM muffler and it's loud as SHIT...and i've only been pulled once in the last two years. dont worry about it man, too many imports running around for them to worry about just you. if you're at the strip down at the beach tahts diff. they'll pull you for ANYTHING down there.

 

^^ i thought that was true cuz they haven't bothered me for about 2 years. But i jus recently got a ticket for mine. Turbo, 2.5in after STOCK cat and HKS hiper exhaust, which is not loud... This was in Hampton BTW.
