Here's the deal. I bought this car from a DWI auctions. It was in a tiny front end bump. Radiator support was bent just a hair. Radiator was busted. I replaced the radiator and hoses. Cranked car up. It started to smoke (white) around the headers. Car NEVER got a 1/4 up the temp gauge. It ran for about 15 min. What are some things that I can check to narrow down the problems. Im thinking it's the head gasket...but there was no water in the oil. What would be the best route. Head gasket, header gasket and valve cover gasket? I just want to fix it so i can sell it.

forgot to mention that the car hasn't been started since january of 06

Car is a 94 Del Sol S 1.5 sohc non-vtec

if it was smoke coming off the headers it could just be burning the oil or dirt that got on the header from the year it was not used. if not then do a compression test and check your coolant if there is oil in it. let it run and watch the temp and check for unusual noise.

 

well i let it run for about 15 min yesterday and another 15 today. tried spraying some degreaser on the header and block. still got smoke. i can't really tell if there is water in the oil or not. oil just looks old.

 

it it smoke coming off the manifolds or out? thick white smoke? or does it increase or decrease after it running? and how much would you be willing to sell it im im taking my bronco off the road to basically do whole drive trian swap but let me know im lookin for somin to put around in

 

turns out nothing is wrong with it...guess it was just burning shit off...now if i can get the rest of my parts from the scammer Chris Colsher (grapeape)...then the car will be for sale
