h23 - h22 question
my friend has a h23, and wants to put a h22 vtec head on it. He wouldnt have to change the pistons or anything correct?
Also, would he have to get an h22 vtec ecu?

Re: h23 - h22 question
Hey man,
I honestly think you should talk to Dave(GreaseMonkey) and Chris Stearns about that.
From what I've gather'd talking to them about it, it's like the LS/Vtec of the H world. The more you go into it, the better it'll run.
And also, from what I've gather'd, the motors don't last very long, due to the H23 being unbalanced, and it being turned really high rpms wise.
He'd be better off getting a H22 swap,(my two cents). But def. talk to the two people I listed.
(and I've yet to meet you )

Same thing here, but Ive been told that the whole thing including labor will cost about $1100 while a full H22 will cost about $2100 after labor, or you can Turbo for about $1200 and get more ponies then doing any of those 2

Re: h23 - h22 question
actually, it would be a good idea to ask for advice from me or grease monkey. i however, would not be the smart choice. grease monkey did the engine job for me.

The most likely cause in H23 VtAk! setups is the fact that H23's have much tighter tolerances on the main and rod bearings compared to H22's.. naturally, because of each engines characteristics
It's no suprise when I hear of STOCK H23 vtec setups spinnin rod/mains lol..
