does anybody know the redline on a jdm spec b18c-r i think its 8900 but i want to make sure

it is the same as a USDM GSR which is 8000. I would not recommend taking it higher than that without upgrading the valve springs and retainers. You have the chance of floating a valve if so

well since its a type r motor i would think it would be the same as a usdm type r which is 8400 if your theory is correct but i think i remember reading somewhere the jdm r was 8900

yeah, generally for hondas where ever your redline starts on the stock cluster the rev limiter is about 200 rpms after.

uhhhh, first of all you have the redline numbers wrong, and second of all he was referring to a jspec B18C, which has a higher than 8k redline...and if there was an issue regarding floating valves, then honda wouldnt have put the redline where it is...they would have lowered it. get your shit straight.
