Manassas Mall
Today around 8 pm I was at Manassas Mall with my girlfriend. We were buying some stuff at a store then all of a sudden as I am paying the clerk all the damn lights go off. It was pitch black for about 10 seconds. Then all I hear is screaming from girls around me and the mall (I was in a girl clothing store). Then the lights started to slowly come back on. The cash registers didn't work in some stores. I thought about taking advantage of the situation and start stealing. LOL Other stores closed early because of it. Then when I was leaving the stores outside the mall and the parking lot were out of light too. Just thought I would share because that has never happened to me.
I thought it was the end of the world.
I thought it was the end of the world.
When I go see late movies at Arundel Mills up in MD, they shut the lights off there before the movie lets out. Thus, all the moviegoers step out into a dark mall from the movie theater because everything is shut down. However, it's not really that dark because they used nothing but bright and vibrant paint colors when they did all the paintwork on the mall walls, so it's not that bad.
What was bad though was when I took the Metro one time. I went into a station that had no power. The station was open, but the farecard machines weren't working. Thus, I was able to get in without getting a ticket. I took the elevator down 22 stories (its the lowest station on the Metro). When I got off the underground part of the station was pitch black except for maybe one or two emergency lights. I stood out there on the platform for probably 6 minutes in the dark waiting for the train to show up, which it did.
When I got off at the station in downtown DC, the station manager thought I jumped the gate until I insisted she call the station manager where I got on at.
