Okay I've searched on this forum and have yet to find out how and from where to where do I run the vtec wire from my d16z6 to my p28 ecu? Does anybody have a walkthrough with pics or diagrams this is my first swap I need help people. Thanks!

 

Do you own a Haynes or any other manual? If not go buy one. In the back in the electrical diagram section, it will tell you which wire goes to the plug that conects to the ecu. If you want to run it and have it look stock, you have to pull pins from some other car and route them into the connectors that all your other wires go into. Their are 3 of them on the passanger side all stacked one on top of the other. Then rip apart the black pastic wire covers and route the wires and wrap it back up. Don't forget to smile, because your having fun.

 

Oh, did I mention that I have the dx harness? What type of wire will I need to use if I don't want to waste my money on another harness?

 

just do a search for a p28 pinout and see what pin is for the vtec solinoid and run a wire from there to the solinoid

 

Do you mean you have another DX harness other than the one in your car? Or did you mean that your DX came with a DX wire harness?

 

I have the original DX harness partially attached to the car, engine and tranny are together. Just waiting to drop it in and wire it up.

 

if i am not mistaken aren't all 92 civics wired for vtec in-dash and you have do is get vtec engine harness?

 

I don't have a vtec harness. I know theres a way to run a seperate wire from the solenoid to the ecu. I just don't know how to do it.
