Suspension and brake project
Im going to be doing a suspension and brake overhaul this weekend on my 2000 civic si. This includes tokico illumina suspension kit, function 7 rear lca's, omni front and rear camber kits, gator stage 3 axles, ebc brakes all around, techna fit lines. Is there anything I need to look out for? Any tricks that will make this go smoother? What can expect to run into while removing the axles? Do they pry out pretty ease? Any help would be great

Remember to bleed your brakes from furtherst away from the resevoir to the closest. Other than that, some patience and a haynes manual should do you fine.

Even though it is a 2000 model, I would recommend spraying down all of the bolts with PB blaster the night before to allow it to soak in to make removing them easier.
It would benefit to have:
- a small pry bar with a fine tip for removing the axles
- a hollow extension bar to use for applying additional leverage when
loosening/tightening bolts
- BFH or mallet
When trying to loosen the 32mm spindle nut, take off the wheel, remove the cotter pin, and if your wheel has a center cap, take that off too. Then put the wheel back on, lower the car back down, and then loosen the spindle nut (using a wrench with the extension bar). That way the axle doesn't spin when you try to loosen it, and if it does spin, have someone apply the brakes as you're trying to loosen it.
And obviously, drain your transmission fluid before removing the axles.

sweet, thanks alot. Ive done axles before on my Mazda MX6 and that was just about the worst experience with a car I have ever had in my life. Hopefully my civic wont give me any problems.

as far as the axles go, theyre extremely simple on a civic... you DO NOT need to drain your tranny fluid. Just do one axle at a time and you should be fine.
