Considering he is talking about ATF you should/would think it is a auto.

No get it changed at a shop it will be like 30 bucks!

i personally would not get it changed unless you are having tranny slipping (or other) problems. changing old dirty fluid with fresh stuff is asking for problems.

But if his tranny is still fine you don't want to keep that nasty shit in there and then mess up the tranny,.

You would be surprised at how many ppl put ATF in there manual.

I would get it changed. The best way to know if your tranny is too far gone by seeing if there are any metal flakes or if the fluid smells burnt. With it being brown there is a good chance you can get it flushed and not have to have all the clutchpacks replaced.

If you get a really good mechanic look at it he should know just by reading the pressure while going throught the gears.

Did I miss something where he said he was talking about ATF? Or are you just basing that off the color or something. Honda Manual trans fluid is also red. Back on the subject. You can only fluch auto transmission. Manuals you can only drain and fill. Also if you have more than 100,000 miles, it is highly not recommended to flush the tranny. just drain and fill. If you want it do, pm me. I can do either at my work. If the fluid is old, change it. Do not let your tranny just die. Dont listen to these people saying keep the old fluid. New fluid will not cause any problems.

If his tranny if really far gone then Yes his trans will fuck up, but if you want to change the fluid and tell him it wont, your responsible if it does within a week or two.
