Default Need check engine code read in NN/york

My beater (1990 accord) has an engine light on. The only problem is autozone can only scan from 95 or newer, im never taking it to the stealership to pay 80 bucks again for the code read. Anyone know of a place that can pull the codes for free? Also the engine light wont come on unless im on the interstate doing about 65. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

You should probably invest in one. I don't remeber how much mine was, but I'm pretty sure its paid itself off.

You could just unplug the light.

you do realize for your accord all you have to do is short the connector behind the passenger kick panel with a little piece of wire, then turn on the ignition and count the number of times the check engine light flashes, then when you get how many times it flashes, just check the code and see what it is (they have a chart on honda-tech if you search there) but if it only comes on on the highway and then cuts off i dunno, try resseting your ecu and then see if it happens any more. (pull the ECU fuse under the hood for like 1 minute) hope this helps
