Today i was driving back from a cruise with some friends. As i pulled up to a red light and was at a stop, the car began to "shake" at idle. Nothing too hard...but you could just feel it in the shifter and a little bit through the seat. After 2000rpms it goes away and everything is fine. No ticking or tapping noises. And i wasn't getting on it before the problem came up, so there wasn't a loud bang or a pop in the motor. The only thing that was out of the ordinary was i hit a pretty decent sized pot hole at about 15mph.
I took it easy coming home and let the car sit for about an hour, started it back up agian and it still has the shake at idle. I've done a few searches on some Subau boards but i just wanted a 2nd opinion.
exhaust rattle maybe? you might have knocked something loose
i think it might be a mount issue. because it seems like it's comign from the right side of the car and i wrecked the shit ouf the right front tire from this giant pot-hole.
is it idling low? Is your bov recirculated? Maybe if it is the pipe got knocked off?
no, it's not idling low and the BOV isn't recirc but it hasn't been for about 2 years and this hasn't happened before. The idle doesn't studder it just shakes pretty bad. I popped the hood and just let it idle and the motor is literally shaking in the engine bay...it's a smooth idle, not choppy but the motor just looks really loose in the engine bay.
