f22 h23 turbo
i was thinking about building an f22 block h23 head and a dsm setup with maybe a 16g is this a good idea? bad idea? it will be going in a 91 accord. what kind of power would i be looking at. ive heard the f22 blocks are very good for boost. please let me know your opinions.
thanks

Re: f22 h23 turbo
The F22 is a good candidate for boost because of its low compression ratio. You cannot run high boost levels on the stock block because of its open deck design. Dropping the H23 head onto the F22 block gives you a better flowing head, added tunability via individual cam timing and more aggressive cam profiles. On a basic DSM setup, tuned with uberdata or crome, you could easily get 175 to 225 hp.

Re: f22 h23 turbo
and def improve the valve train. I've heard continously that the head is ill-suited for turbo because that reason. I would love to do that (if I had the money and if my wife could part with her car....)

Re: f22 h23 turbo
best website for information on this is www.cb7tuner.com .. it is dedicated to 90-93 accords. there are quite a few boosted accords running around.. there is a h22 turbo with 641whp.. pretty crazy.. but with a 16g running 8 psi on a stock f22a6 you are probably looking at 190-210Whp.. which equals out to about 230-250hp at the crank..

Re: f22 h23 turbo
thank you for all the input yea i have read a lot on there but i havent seen ne with the h23 head im prob gonna bore out the block eventually and use forged rods and pistons and do some work on the valvetrain. as for the turbo its a friend of mine that ran it on his 2nd gen i believe he ran a 12.5 it has mild port work on it. so i think the turbo will be ok but with this set up will it be able to be daily driven im not really planning on running much boost until i fully build it.i also heard somewhere that the f22 blocks were iron i dunno about this is it true?
