for anyone who knows anything about computers, reading that will make them cringe..u gotta be specific dude, like what exactly happens, what do u gotta do to make it work again, if it stops working period, r u saying www.hotmail.com doesnt load up, or r u saying it shuts your dsl down(highly unlikely) ugh let me rinse myself

Re: Cavalier DSL issues!
it works fine, I can down load and upload stuff. but when I plug in hotmail.com I get this:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
Also AOL IM cant seem to connect, neither can yahoo messenger. HOWEVER, if I use my laptop and connect to someone elses network it works fine

Wow, first time i've ever heard of that off campus..
are you on campus? or no? because thats weird, it's like you have a big brother system and it's blocking you out of those ;[

Thats really odd.. considering they don't have a 'big brother' type system and it's pretty much individual..
the only other thing I could suggest is check the connection settings on all the browsers make sure there are no proxies and no connections that are trying to use something else to connect with and that could be a reason why it's rejecting that hookup.. check aim's connection settings too.

did you input your dns settings under network connections/tcpip settings? if its not that maybe try mozilla, it could be some ticked box under settings on internet explorer
cavalier is a great dsl service. they dont limit the bandwith like verizon does. speed tests say im at about 8mbps down and 800kps up or something like that, for 5 bucks more than the verizon 768kdown, no contract also

Re: Cavalier DSL issues!
install firefox, and dont have it load settings/bookmarks from IE or any other browser you have installed.. jus a full clean install of firefox and try to load it..
but yea im with these guys, i've seen ALOT of random stuff.. but never having 1 page not load. as for aim... could be a bug......
if all else falls.. www.google.com get a gmail email.. and then have your hotmail stuff sent to the gmail.. it's not the end of the world....it's just hotmail.
