Well, It had been a long hard last couple of weeks and I had been so busy all of my hobbies had to take a back seat. Last night after class at 9:30ish I said to the hell with it and grabbed my pull and drove off to Yorktown to see how the Stripers were. Well high tide was at 10:30 and it was extremely rough. If anyone is familiar with the new setup in Yorktown there are several new boat docks with several hanging lights. Overall I caught probably 50 stripers and out of all of them about 10 were easily keepers. I usually catch a lot of little guys in Yorktown and HRBT, yet never did this well. I was honestly tired after everything but my face is probably still glowing. If anyone wants to have fun just grab your poll and pm me to meet up and go. I am free on all weekday nights from 11 on but sometimes earlier. Now.... the new rules are your not suppose to be on the rocks and fish at all but I really dont care and if its on a quiet night and you keep low you will be fine. I honestly didn't see the sign until I was all done. I also got hung up on a couple of the docks and jumped the gate to save my rigup and once over thats when I saw the amazing sight of large stripers and small blues creating all hell on the topwater. I had to fish on the dock for a little bit but dont tell anyone lol. I dont keep any of the fish cept for a few goodsize blues just to try and keep the numbers of the fish up for the years to come. Great time, and if anyone has a boat we can fish this spot legally by launching at gloucester point which would be very nice. Just let me know. Dave

 

Dang, thats a pretty good night. Id like to go but doubt id be free to drive all the way up there.

 

I am off all next week and will be taking my boat out. Its the perfect temp for stripers.

 

Where is this at yorktown beach area. We are always looking for spots to go we are off during the weekdays. Sounds like you had a good night its always nice to get out there and just relax and cleaar yourmind of everything that happened that day. Catch and release

 

What were you using for bait?

 

well it seems if white is a decent color this year, and the larger ones loved the spoon I was flipping out. There were so many blues I stuck with the spoon because they were tearing up my expensive plastics and it was to cold to keep tying knot after knot. How I was fishing wasn't legal and would really like to go with someone on a boat so its all legal. These docks were over in the new section near the bridge. pm me somone if you wanna meet up and do this.

thanks, really trying to get a group together to do one of the fishing charters off the nc coast to catch the huge fish. I here only the best from it. I believe those start when it gets a lil colder.

 

jrbt is hitting with larger ones about 22in right now if you wanted to know where some bigger ones were

 

nice, i caught actually 2 or 3 22inchers that night, I was amazed since I usually pull 12incher out from this spot. Maybe people have been following the rules. Havent been to jrbt yet, but I want to . thanks for looking out. I really need to invest into a boat but Im a broke college student.
