Default no reverse gear?
whenever i accelerate in reverse, it pops out of gear and sounds really bad. what could it be? i checked shift linkage, nothing seems wrong. if i hold it up (it's a vw) then it won't pop out. any ideas?

jettas and other v dubs around the 1994 range , i dont know the years ..... but my friend went thru 2 trannys that did this .... he is in the process of getting his 3rd tranny ..... its a common problem on those years from what i hear .... im asuming you have the 2.0L 4 cylinder ......
