Due to the billions of off topic/negative comments in just about every classifieds thread, I think we should start using a rule I've seen in other forums. Off topic/negative comments have gotten WAY out of hand and shouldn't be allowed. I've seen a lot, a whole lot, of people join the site and just post in the classifieds section. Then, when they don't like what someone is selling, or the asking price, they bitch and moan in the persons thread. Half of the people are bullshiters and don't even buy anything.

It should be clearly written that if you make any off topic comments AT ALL in someones thread you should have, at least, a temp. ban.

I've seen some sites that if you make an off topic comment then you're gone, no questions asked. If we inforced the temporary ban to ANY users at all that doesn't abide by this rule.


Well, thats just something I thought would help weed out the bullshit we have in this forum. I hope this helps, or maybe gives an idea to something that can be done.

I def. feel the same way. I hate when people come in ur thread and just start asking a bunch of questions about what ur selling and why ur selling it. When you know they arent interested in it at all anyways.

 

yeah but you still need to leave room for negotiations. Negative comments are useless, but another offer is acceptable.

 

or maybe give the possibility for the thread owner to be able to ONLY delete comments, as he see's fit. ??? I mod at hrfbody so im sure we could find a way to do it.

 

Well yea, negotiations would be allowed of course.

 

Another classified suggestion:
Move the whole classified section down on the forum menu. Right now, the classified section is the third "set" of forums, move it to the last in the line up.

So instead of being: VA Driven Presents, General Discussion, Classifieds, Regional, Off Topic, Site News.

It would be: VA Driven Presents, General Discussion, Regional, Off Topic, Classifieds, Site News.

Just a thought.

they should all just be locked so no one can post anything and if you want to ask the person anything pm them

 

i disagree with that. one persons question should be viewed by all so everyone interested is on the same page and knows what the deal is.

 

I'm willing to perma-ban anyone who violates the classifieds rules.
