So, the nice police lady gave me 50 in a 25 ticket. It's right where the Speed changes from 45 down to 25. She'll be sitting right passed the 25mph sign.
Just figured I'd help you guys out.

This is my first ticket, I'm 18, what am I looking at? anyone know? I'm not trying to be one of those guys that's blaming the officer, because, technically, I was speeding. I should have slowed down faster, but, I didnt, so now I'm going to pay the price for it. If anyone knows anything that can help me with atleast finding out what kinda penalty I'm looking at, please let me know.

driver improvement for sure, i got pulled for 41 in a school zone and they dropped it in court cuz i took a DI class a week before the court date and brought the certificate of completion....not sure what youll get in your situation but go to court for it

And yes, I'm going to try and find out if the DI will help at all. I'm definatly going to court though, I'm just going to have to find out about my exams.

 

It goes from 45 to 35 to 25 and there is plenty of time in between each speed change.

 

ok, I was there last night...Never saw the 35 sign, and I was paying attention because I had never been down there...which was why when I saw that 25mph sign, I slowed down, but it was too late

Now you know. And everyone down here knows that 6 times out of 10, there's going to be a cop sitting there. My g/f's gotten pulled there for 42/25. Sucks, but its a smart spot for them to sit at to catch people that don't pay attention to the signs. I probably would've done the same thing my first time too...

You'll want to go to driver improvement class before your court date, that'll make you look a little better to the judge. But a wreckless driving isn't good nonetheless. I had a similar charge when I was 17. I got stuck with it and had to pay a pretty decent fine. If you have the $$$ available, I'd get some legal help. Even if they can help get it dropped to a lesser charge, its alot better than wreckless, which stays on your record for a pretty long time (for a traffic charge).
