Steve or someone help please
2002 R6.
Started having turn signal problems. Thought it was the turn signal switch so I replaced that and also installed watsen design led turn signals up front. Still didn't work.(keep in mind when the lights when out I cut the rears off so that I wouldn't get a ticket for inoperative turn signals. I still haven't replaced the rears because I am integrating them into the brake light. The wires are not grounding on each other!) So I jumped into the manual and started checking everything. Fuses are good and got good voltage at the relay connector. Next step was to check it at the instrument cluster. I disconneted the cluster and the signals suddenly started working. Plugged the cluster in and they still worked. Walked outside 5 minutes later to show the wife the new signals and they worked for about 2 minutes and then poof gone again.
I noticed when I started messing with the wiring someone has been in it before because most of the light harness is all electric taped and I see damn advance auto parts crimp connectors everywhere. The bik had an alarm system so I am guessing they had to tie the alarm into the lights somehow. I am about to the point to just buy a new harness and install it.
Anyone have any guesses?

you're also gonna have problems running just one set of lights, or running just leds, the singal relay needs to see a certain amount of current draw to work right. though usualy in that situation, the signals will just come on and stay on (not flash), instead of not work at all.
if someone cut the factory harness to put an alarm in, they did a shitty job. i've put many an alarm in cars and bikes, and i NEVER cut wires to get them installed. i just use taps.
