What would your speedo have to do with vtec?
It's RPM activated, not speed.

VTEC does not engage under 20mph

Gotcha, did you check the wiring harness for the speedo?
Cause that happened to me in my old car, and the clip in
the back was just a little loose.

I do love you, just to let you know

Check the ground for the speedo harness, like everyone else has said.

The ECU throws a code due to the defective sensor and cuts off vvt (oil)pressure therefore, no VTEC

It happened to me in the ol' Prelude Si. Switched speed sensor/gear and it worked again. I actually rode around in it with no VTEC/Speedo for a long time then when I got the new sensor it was like doin a huuuge mod to my kahh!

Anyway it is very possible that you may have picked up another defective speed sensor. Where did you get it?
