i retract my last statement, i took the question the wrong way and sounded like a dick head. i called a few shops today and they gave me the whole why? BS.. The reason is the truck is bagged and ive almost drug threw my stock tank so i wanted to get one in the bed so i dont catch the darn thing on fire
since it's a chevy,
you may be able to get away with a standard fuel cell and use some sort of adapter to use the factory gauge. gm's pretty good about simplicity. i'd check jegs/summit/etc and see if they offer a fuel cell with a pickup that'll work with the stock gauge.
worst case, put an inline fuel pump along the frame, below the tank.
i can only assume that it'll cost a shitload to MAKE one from aluminum (like the one in your pic) to use a stock pickup/sending unit.
just my $.02

Summit has some cells that are like $150 or less?
All you need is a shop to cut a hole in it and tig up the bracket for the pump and all. You can see thats all they did in that pic.... Most any alum shop could do it....

I would think it would be cheaper to just use a standard cell. They make sending units that work with the gm gauges. Even if you had to buy a new pump, you would probably come out cheaper in the end. One off stuff tends to get expensive due to the time involved.
