Default Purchased this Turbo, but doubt it's a T61..

Last week, my search for a turbo took a serious step when I purchased this turbo: Ebay Link.

Upon researching the compressor housing and turbine housing, I've come to the decision this is a T60-1 and not a T61 as advertised. Here are a few detailed pics I based my decision upon:

Whole Turbo:

Compressor Housing:

Turbine Housing: (0.58 AR with Turbonetics Stamp)

Height Comparison: (16.9 OZ Water Bottle)

Width Comparison: (16.9 OZ Water Bottle)

If any of you can shed some light on this I would appreciate it. Also, does anyone have any information on the difference between the T61 and the T60-1?

Finally, if this turbo is a T60-1, I plan on either re-selling it or trading it for a Holset HX40. Does anyone have any literature on the HX40 including compressor maps and goodies of this sort? I tried contacting Holset, but they claimed their maps were confidential...

Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing. But back on topic, you've gotta be careful getting anything off ebay, the slightest difference in advertisement could screw you over even if you think your getting a deal. Hopefully you get it all straightened out!

Get some calipers and take the compressor housing off, if it measures 58mm for the small part of the blade then it is a 60-1, if it measures 61mm and 82mm exducer then it is a T61

The window in the background was caused by my daughter. Of course, she's of the 4 legged variety and has separation anxiety. Also, as far as turbo lag, if this is going on a v8, which it is, there shouldn't be much, if any, turbo lag.

This is exactly the information I was looking for. I'll get a set of calipers tonight and take a look.

Everyone else, thanks for taking a look!

58mm inducer..

76mm exducer..

So what do I do, return the turbo or put a T61 compressor wheel on or...?
