Has anyone bought anything from CarMax ? do you still have your extended warranty ?

 

i have no idea about warranty but they are a buy here pay here. Miss one pymnt and ur ride is gone.

 

That is where I bought my 96 GT from, and my parents have bought numerous other cars there.
I got the two year, 20k(?) mile warranty on the car, and it just about paid for itself.
Although I almost had it voided; i.e they don't like modified cars.

 

The only thing I dont like about carmax is that they will price to sell thier cars at what NADA will appraise them at. Basically they sell the cars at the most "approved" loan amount. No discounts

 

I bought a wrx from there and it was garbage. They did end up buying it back after about 7 months of fighting though.

 

you can do waaay better if you buy on your own.
Shit if you look hard enough everyday and your patient u can find great deals on cars. You will pay top dollar at carmax. Thats how they make there $$

 

I'm look ing to change cars right now, and i want to buy independently, but I only have one car, so how do i work with the transition. gotta sell the car to buy the car, gotta have a car to drive. I could do a trade in but then I lose money on the sale of my car.

advice? someone wanna let me borrow a car for a couple days when the time comes?

 

I hate CarMax. Their "no haggle" deals are bullshit. They might as well say "Pay what we say or get the fuck out." I dont see why people like idea that they cant get a better deal. Shits retarded.

It is fun to walk around their lot to waste their employee's time though, I do it monthly for fun.

 

Hahahahaha, yea, my ex-rommie works there, From what he said the warranties are good, but yea, I don't know, never bought a car from there myself, nor would I. Going to waste thier time, awesome, hahahaha.

 

Carmax sucks, I took the Jeep there when I got divorced to see if they would buy it - booked at 21,000 and they offered me 11k

Then the fag had the nerve to tell me to take the quote as it was good for a week or 1,000 miles as I very quickly bit my tongue and left.

I will never buy from them, they rip off people to get rich.
