20+ on a SRT-4
Ok, my friend just got an SRT-4 that "appears" to be completely stock. But the thing is that his boost gauge is bouncing on 20psi wich is the limit of his gauge. Now i know for a fact, without any fuel management, that these cars get fuel cut at 16 or 17 psi and his is not showing the slightest of it. Now the only thing that doesn't apear stock on his car is his wastegate, It is polished looking and has "AGP" on it. Also there is nothig that we can tell hooked up as a boost controller to turn it up or down. So my question is this. Does anyone have any clue why he is not getting fuel cut? Or even why he is boosting so much without any type of controller? The only thing i can think of is that when the new wastegate was installed, the boost gauge was taped in the wrong location. Any advice will be greatly apriciated.

the wastegate IS the boost controller. the agp unit is replace because it is adjustable and was turned up. you have to unscrew the arm on it and turn it so that the arm gets longer. btw you WILL blow your motor if you dont do something and it will NOT be covered under warranty. what color is this srt4? it is not the ecu.

it might be different on SRT-4's but thats how it works for mine.
there is no fuel cut defender installed, it will let you boost to 20psi but should be throwing a code, unless of course its stage 1 or he did the freemod....... ive dont this several times on my srt trying to raise the boost on accident.

The reason for that code is part time throttle boost in other words it's boosting to much and you need to turn it down.
also tell your friend not to get on it until you fix this problem. these motors arent cheap. if hes pegging 20 on the boost gauge, hes probably boosting even more than that.
and i dont believe that fuel cut is at 17psi. i could be wrong, its been awhile, but i think thats just the point where your car begins to run lean, and theres not enough fuel left to run any more boost safely. theres a bunch of turbo guys that spike 18-19, and fall to 17 stock. check out my for sale thread on here too, maybe your friend wants to buy something?
