Default FYI Radar Detector Users

I was pulled to day in traffic on Effingham in downtown Portsmouth by Portsmouth's finest. As he approached the vehicle I noticed him not looking at me but instead my dash and front window area. His First statement after "Good Afternoon", was "Do you have a radar detector that is currently on in this vehicle?" As he asked this he was bent down to one knee looking up at my V1. I said yes because I knew he knew it was there. He then asked why it wasn't lit up. I told him it has remote display and the main unit never lights up. He said thats Creative and when asked if he could see it (as like in his hands). I told him it was permanently mounted and it would take tools to remove and he said " Well thats ok, but just to let you know in Virginia it is illegal to have a Radar detector in use while the vehicle is on."," I knew you had a detector because I have a radar detector detector" and then pointed it out in his window. I told him I would turn it off and he said "thank you", and then said "have a good afternoon".

He was on the phone the whole time he was behind me, and was prolly tring to pull a record on me. But luckily for me Virginia's Dmv doesnt even know I exist . <~ I know this after my trespassing ticket last week...

I think my Alabama plates really helped me out.

Again this is just a warning,

Portsmouth has Stepped up there Game...

hmm I have a detector detector blocker.. Ive heard both rumors that they can or cant confiscate them, but When I was with AFWESTPUNK and he got pulled they just wrote the serial and model number down then gave it back to him and wrote him a ticket for it.

never had any problems. i even pass cops running stationary radar and haven't seen one yet to act on any suspicion of having a radar detector.
