Ok so heres the story. I have a civic with a H22 in Florida. I got the motor rebuilt from the ground up and the car ran fine when we dropped the motor back in the car. Car ran for at least 5 months without any problems. Never drove it much, the motor only has like 65 miles on it. I moved up here and had my brother start the car, and one day it started and ran for about 2 minutes then just died. The car will not start anymore. I was in FL for the weekend and tried putting gas in it, checked for fuel and spark and it had both. The car also has an external coil. Any help would be appreciated if anybody has ran into this problem with the same setup. Thanks

 

have you gotten a compression check? check your grounds also

 

no i havent done a compression check recently. I did one about 5 months a go and it was like 215 or 225 all the way accross. It hasnt been driven since then only started and let run for a while. It might be grounds but i have to ask my friend where he put all of them since he dropped the motor. The motor also has a fresh rebuild.

 

grounds was my problem. they were a bitch

 

SO has anybody else had the problem? I need to try to get it running next time i go back to florida... dont want my dad bitchin about it sitting in the yard.

 

Also the car turns over just dosent run... Where are all the grounds located? My friend built and dropped the motor but i cant get a hold of him. I know that there are grounds on the thermostat housing, and the head. Besides that is there anymore? thanks

 

Ok still have not got this piece running. I need to get it running, I put about 5K in the motor and its just sitting at my parents house rotting.

 

Have you checked the timing? Do the spark pugs look good? Before you do anything I would change the gas since it has been siting for a while.

I wouldn't worry about a ground so much if you are getting fuel and ignition.
Also where did you check to see you have ignition and fuel?

 

i had the same problem, had to replace distributor not because it wasnt working but because it was over working or something like that i forgot what the guy said

 

first check for spark from the wires/ and if the fuel pump is kicking on and how much pressure it is putting out, then check the egr and even the injector ressistor pack(it has been converted...right?). and out of curiosity what ecu are you runing
