dc2 rhd conversion
Tryin to do a right hand conversion on my dc2. I will be replacing the fire wall with on of a jdm type r and not sure of where to cut. Any advice or links would be greatley appreciated....thanks
What are you using to cut it? Plasma, sawzall, cut off wheel. If it were me I would try to cut as close as I could where the firewall meets up with the rest of the car, that way when you go back to weld it back together you have a strong structure to weld on.
Also once you make your cuts all the way around use the piece you cut out for reference. Make a template out of cardboard or poster board and apply that to your next cut by tracing it on the other firewall. If you take your time and line everything up correctly it should go pretty smoothly.
Mike ask that dude in town that has the EG with the right hand drive. If it was I cut near the bottom of the A pillar but look up on www.honda-tech.com Im sure there is something in there to look for.
I plan on using the ol saw saw but im not sure whats the easiest way to go about it. Ben had to cut the car in half because it was totalled from the dash up.
not "hating" on you at all-so don't take it the wrong way-but why do the RHD conversion?possibly sacrifice the structural integrity of the car, have a hard time driving on the wrong side of the car,no drive-thrus,possible hassle from the cops......
why not just do the front-end conversion?when the whole JDM fad is over, you'll be stuck with a mod that's not reversible, unless you clip it again.i'm sure you'll get props from all the JDM whores at shows, but you basically just spent a lot of time and money to sit on the wrong side of the car.
do you have any welding and/or bodyshop type experience?

its not the "WRONG SIDE" of the car. Its just the other side.lol. I think RHD conversions will never go out of "style". Anybody is gonna notice that and you dont even have to like cars. Id love to have a RHD car, yeah they arent convenient for an everyday car. But if he is gonna spend all this money on this DC2 i doubt it is his only car.
