Today was a VERY sad day for me. It started like any other Thursday, I mustered with my shop, and went to the gym on the other side of the base to work out.
When I came out of the gym an hour later my whole month changed for me. My car was trashed all up and down the driver's side. From tail light to head light was dents, scratches, and paint about a foot in width and just along the door moulding and fenders. My alarm went spastic when I went to unlock the car, to let me know that my car was tampered with, and the first thing I noticed was that my rear fender was going to need to be CUT OUT and replaced.
There was not one person outside for me to ask if they had seen the incedent. There weren't any cameras looking down on the parkign lot. There wasn't even any of the tail light plastic on the ground.
From there it was calling the wife and letting her know I'm ok. Calling the cops and filing a report. Then finally, calling the insurance co and letting them know that I will be filing a claim.
I called a friend and he led me to a great place that will give me an adjustment on Monday.
The car is drivable (not racing drivable, but it'll get me to work and back) and as far as I can tell it's all just sheet metal and plastic. But, I'll let the pros be the judge of that.
Unfortunately, I'm all signed up for a race THIS SUNDAY! I'm going to see if anyone wants to let me co-drive with them, if anything I'll have a credit for another race.
I've had the car for 6 years... not once have I had a problem with parking, even on base. But, this will leave a sour taste in my mouth for a VERY long time.
Here are the pictures... for those on NMCI, sorry.

I would definitely call up my insurance to handle that. Cause that right there is going to put a nice dent in the wallet if you pay for it yourself.
