vtec or non-vtec...
i got a b18a1..92 integra....which as every knows is a non-vtec motor...im new to the import world and dont really know what fits on what...i know i want a b16 or gsr head...with the gsr head ill have to tap the block and get a gsr distributor(some thing about the ears on the dizzy dont line up and will leak...)?imm not sure if i should put cams and cams gears in it and build a non vtec motor...i ran my buddy the other night and he has the same year integra but his car has a gsr and he didnt beat me by more then 1 and half cars...seems to me vtec doesnt do much...i could be wrong...can you put gsr or b16 cams in a LS motor which is non vtec?if so what will it do...if anybody can fill me in on a little import knwleadge it would be greatly appreciated...i have built several mustangs but now wanting to do something different...thanks...Ryan

Re: vtec or non-vtec...
you cant put vtech cams in a non vtech motor. They are totally different being that the vtech cams have an extra lobe for vtec. And you car is OBD0 or 1? Well to make it easy whatever OBD your car is get the same OBD head of b16 or gsr or you could even do the b17 gsr head from the 92-93 integras. There is info on here about lsvtec that you can research cause I know you have to build them right for them to be reliable so check it out.

Re: vtec or non-vtec...
if your going to do ls/vtec(ls bottom end with a vtec head)
build it right with pr3 pistons, supposing you have a obd0 car and get arp rods bolts, and the eagle ls/vtec conversion.doing it properly will make your motor last which unlike mine didnt even get me home without throwing a rod through the block
and yes vtec owns all

Re: vtec or non-vtec...
umm lets see b20's bore is 84mm while ls is 80mm,thicker sleeves/cylinder walls(b18) sounds a whole lot safer to me if your going to be using stock sleeves and plan to go ls/b20 vtec and which will raise your compression
