sooo i just got an R6 and have a simple question, are swingarm mounted plates legal? if not do you guys really get hassled about it? the bike has one from previous owner

legally , the plate has to be mounted horizomtally, and has to have a light on it, and has to be easily visible from the rear of the bike. though, whether you may get hassled is the officers call.

Depends on where you are as well...if you are at the beachfront and you aren't on a Harley, expect to get harrassed!!

Especially if you plate isn't in the stock location.

thanks for the reply guys, i'll keep it on for now and see how it goes, however what about integrated taillights? I know there not legal, but would i get more hassled about this? what about during inspection

Once again, depends on where you go...if you get the inspection at a bike shop you will probably fail and they will give you a high quote to install signals. If you go to a car inspection station (most can do bikes as well), they might not know any better and let it go. The law states that if you have turnsignals installed, they have to work. It is either all or none. Technically the lights have to be a certain size and distance apart, but fortunatly, many places let them slide. I have flushmounts on the front and short stalks on the rear and haven't had any problems, but then again, I don't go to bike shops to get it inspected.
