If so, where should I look? And what should I look for? I'm hoping for something not too dated, as long as it runs well, I can maybe replace the fairings if I wanted a newer look. I've always wanted one, but I was always into the newer gixxers and R1's, obviously too expensive for me. What do you think I could get if anything? Thanks.

probably going to be hard since this is the prime bike season now, prices are more expensive. YOu could probably have gotten a older CBR f2 for that price during the winter. Fairings are EXPENSIVE. If you get a naked bike without fairings, or even 1/4 or 1/2 fairing, they are usually cheaper.

That's a little something I wanted to keep secret cuz I was trying to talk my wife into learning to ride, and this woulda been perfect...but she'd rather sit behind me than ride alongside me.
Btw, you sound like a new rider...EX500s/Ninja500s are great starter bikes, and this one looks great too. I don't know if I'd keep it lowered, but this is a decent deal.

ahahaha, i saw that on clist but i didnt even bother clicking on it cuz i thought it would be a fucked up 500, but dam, not bad, not bad at all. But ya, for $2000 and less you can usually get a bike that is pretty banged up. But for $2700-3500 you can find something thats actually pretty good especially if you get a good deal. Well this is the general feel I've found from checkin on clist like everyday for the last 2 years, lol

Actually, for $2000 you could get yourself a newer EX500 or GS500. Last year, I picked up my '99 EX500 for $1800 which was in decent shape and ran nicely. If you think you can handle a 600, you should look into the older F2's or early F3's. Katana 600's are ok, but a bit on the heavy side.

There are deals to be had, you just may have to travel to get them. Figure out the maximum distance you will travel for a bike, and start checking craigslist, this site(most bikes are a bit overpriced), cycleforums.com, and platform specific sites such as cbrworld.net.

Make sure you don't blow your entire budget on the bike alone. You'll probably want to save up 500-750 for some good gear. Also, make sure you check out skr00z's sticky on buying a used bike.

Here is a fella on here selling a '95 ZX6R right now with 8,XXX miles for $2700. Looks like a real nice bike for the price. Probably wouldn't be a bad bike and doesn't look dated like most of the early to mid '90s bikes.

You can def. get one, I'm trying to get one for 800, I've seen some go for 600 but they need work and they go FAST.
