Beginners sport bike
I know that this is prolly in here somewhere but ive been reading around and didnt find just what i was looking for.
ok so heres the deal. I am 20 years old and my goal is to get a bike license and a bike in the next 3 months or so, but I really like the style of newer sport bikes, but I dont want to kill myself. I am very mature when it comes to controling myself from wanting to "test the limits" of a dangerous machine. Are there any full fairing nice looking sport bikes out there that are beginner friendly? I was looking at honda cbr 600s but i have heard mixed emotions about these. The make/model is no big deal either I just like the was the bike looks rather than the naked looking bikes. I will try my best not to be thick headed.
Thanks for any help, please no negative comments.

Re: Beginners sport bike
all the sport bikes out now are track bikes made street legal. what i suggest for firt timers are older CBR's. i think the suzuki SV 650 would be a great choice also. it has plenty modification options, and you can even fair it to look like the new gsxr's

there are mixed emotions about every bike some people like them and others do not. older f3's and f2's are real nice to start out on. The above sv650 too is a great bike. I really do not see a reason why you could not get a newer 600cc bike though.

Dude, if you think you can handle it, get a new bike. Its all about how much respect you have for it. A friend of mine got his 06 gsxr 600 which would keep up with my 01 r1 (expecially since he went -1 in the front, PC, BMC filter, velocity stacks and exhaust with a tune) and that was his first bike. He had some close calls, but i think everyone will have those, its just how you handle it.
Another friend of mine who just left to go into the AF got his 07 r6 (first bike ever rode too), and like i said, he had a close call or 2, but if you just take it easy and learn how the maching handles, you should be ok.
Also, dont just get the bike and go out riding with a bunch of people. My suggestion is, get someone you can trust who rides as well, and try and go out 1 on 1 on the street with them. The more people you have, the more chances that someone will act stupid and mess you up.
Oh, btw, the guy with the gsx-r is 24 now, and the guy with the r6 is 19 if that makes any difference.
